Leadsled 2026 – Kustom visiting from KKOA President Jerry Titus

As I write this, excitement is shaping up to be one of the biggest, and best Leadsled Spectacular ever. Pre-entries of kool Hot Rods and Kustoms, and Venders has surpassed all others so far.
The only thing that might hamper it, is Mother Nature and its heat forecast! But don’t sweat it, cause, once there you’ll see there’s lots of tall trees, and a knock out cool, 40 ft. wide river that gently runs all the way around the Salina Oakdale Park showgrounds, with 3 ft. high walls. Plus, lots of good food and cold drink vendors throughout the park. Say Hey! Don’t forget the city swimming pool, located right across the street from the park (about 40 short steps). So you can (if you want), bring your swimwear and take a dip. Your Leadsled Spectacular ID entry will get you back in Oakdale park.
We have some super Kool Hotrods and Kustoms registered so far this year, and they are all nice. Plus, super kool vintage/kustom bicycles. On that subject!!! July 23rd, Thursday evening, “Spectacular Cruise” on Santa Fe Avenue (one block from the show park) that has lots of early kool hotrods and kustoms in town, cruising Santa Fe Street (main street of Salina) slow, in front of 1,000’s of sidewalk waving spectators. A great way to start up the Spectacular event that begins on Friday.
If you miss seeing them, never fear! The cars in the cruise will be in the Oakdale show park most of the weekend, and just might make a 1/8 mile pass on the drag strip at the drag races, that is held on the old Salina Airport runway. A real sight to see.
And, if you dig building Kustom model cars or trucks! Why not bring a Kustomized built model car or truck, and try for the big $100 Championship Award?
The Leadsled Spectacular, as usual, has big name Kustomizers (builders) on site from several states, even sometimes from international countries. And, KKOA welcomes each and every one.
The Leadsled Spectacular’s two most popular contests has (2) different categories for ladies, that most ladies will call them “Beauty Contests.” No. 1 is for Ladies 18-39 years of age, and titled “Pinups.” And, No. 2 is for all Ladies 40+ years of age, that are titled “Lookers.” Both winning categories have awards! 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, each receiving a Award Wall Plack. And, each No. 1 winner of both categories receives a wall plaque and $1,000 cash. Both beauty contests are held on the monster size Oakdale Park stage, with a clean, nice dressing room. And, emcee for the event contests will be Rock & Roll singer, Eddie Valen.
Thanks from KKOA to EACH and EVERYONE of YOU for coming and supporting this event, and making it a world famous Kustom Car and Truck event, and can’t forget the kustom and restored bicycles, and many vendors. Plus, and the most important!!! The gracious city of Salina, Kansas, and the many, many loyal businesses, and most of all the loyal and friendly home owners who live in and around Salina. Thank you….Kustom Kemps of America, KKOA salutes you, for all you do to help KKOA present the spectacular event.
