Anhydrous Ammonia Applications

Many producers are getting ready for fall anhydrous application. Some producers are applying anhydrous now to fields that will be planted to wheat. However very dry soils in many areas of Kansas can be a concern.

Traditionally, when cowherd supplementation is discussed, we focus on meeting the protein needs of the cow, with the goal of maximizing forage intake by supplementing protein, the most limiting nutrient in dormant native forages.

Let the Sun Shine In! at Sunflower Fair Tuesday, Sept. 20 in Salina

After two-years, the Sunflower Fair is back! Seniors, caregivers, and anyone who plans to celebrate more happy birthdays are invited!  It happens Tuesday, Sept. 20 at the Tony’s Pizza Events Center from 8 am to 4 pm in Salina. Cost is $20 before September 10 and $25 after this date.

44th ANNUAL LOGAN LABOR DAY CELEBRATION

The 44th Annual Logan Labor Day Celebration at the Logan Golf Course located 1.25 miles east of Logan, Kansas on HWY 9, will be held on SUNDAY, September 4, 2022. The Hansen Museum with funds from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation sponsors this annual family-friendly event. There is no admission fee.

News Release - 8/17/2022 High producing crops such as corn and sorghum tend to accumulate high nitrate levels in periods of drought, excessive heat, hail, and in other environmental stresses.  All plants contain nitrate, used to create amino acids, the building blocks for proteins.
