National 4-H Week is set aside to celebrate the impact the organization has made in the lives of families and communities for more than a century. The week, October 2-8, brings awareness to the 4-H program at the county, state and national level.

Enrollment for the new 4-H season is ongoing now after kicking off with 4-H Sunday on October 2 and 4-H Spirit Day on October 4.

4-H youth development programs challenge youth to “learn by doing” with fun, hands-on activities. Kids can learn, practice, and demonstrate new skills while exploring the interests that are important to them.

The youth are brought together in clubs, led by caring adults, who welcome them as a part of the larger 4-H family. 4-H members range in age from 7-18 (age on January 1). Youth who are 5 to 6 years of age (age on January 1) may join 4-H as a Cloverbud member.

While 4-H is often associated with agriculture, young people don’t have to live on a farm or have any prior knowledge of agriculture to participate.
