Twin Creeks 4-H Members Do Well at State Fair

Twin Creeks Extension District had 49 4-H members enter for a total of 76 exhibits and events at the 2022 Kansas State Fair. The district was well represented and rated very well.

For Norton County, Bridgette Hines and Inez Schemper both participated in clothing construction. Bridgette received a red ribbon and Inez received a purple. From Decatur County, KeLynn Jacobs and Michaela Wasson both entered in clothing and textiles. Michaela participated in garment construction and took home a purple ribbon. KeLynn modeled her constructed garment in the fashion review and received a blue ribbon.  

Each county had a number of entries for photography at the State Fair. In Graham County, Chase Bell received a purple ribbon. Andrew Deges, Anthony Deges, Benjamin Deges, Paul Deges and Jalynn Flax all received blue ribbons. In Sheridan County, Toby Korte, Addison Ostmeyer and Isabella Ostmeyer all received blue ribbons. Red ribbons were awarded to Macie Juenemann and Toby Korte. In Norton County, Jenna Scofield received a purple ribbon and her photo was chosen to be on display for the next year at Rock Springs Ranch. Tana Breiner received a blue ribbon on both of her photos. Axten McKenna, Kenlee Kats, Cohen Lowry, Judah Scofield, Gage Breiner, and Grady Breiner all received blue ribbons. Ja’Nee Moore received a red ribbon. From Decatur County, Kaci Dirks and KeLynn Jacobs received blue ribbons for both of their photography entries. Kodi Dirks, Kylie Dirks, Kiomi Jackson and Julie Wilson also received blue ribbons for their photography entries. Ryllie Lippelmann, Jordon Ruzicka, Kaitlyn Ruzicka, Mason Urban and Dash Warren all received red ribbons. Michaela Wasson took home a white ribbon for her photography project.

Chase Bell, Graham County, received a purple and a blue ribbon for food preservation. Olivia Alexander, Norton County, received a blue ribbon for her foods preservation entry.

From Norton, Bridgette Hines received a blue on her foods and nutrition entry. Rylee Givens, Inez Schemper, Kaison Miller, and Graci Bliss all received red ribbons for their foods and nutrition entries. From Graham, Chase Bell brought home a purple for his food and nutrition entry. Rylan Moss from Sheridan County also brought home a purple ribbon. In Decatur County, Kaci Dirks, Kodi Dirks and KeLynn Jacobs each brought home a purple ribbon. Derek Wilson received a blue placing. Weston Barnes, Cameo Counter, Kylie Dirks, Harmony Wilson and Luke Wilson all received red. Harley Barnes received a white ribbon for foods and nutrition.

We were able to take all of the five categories to the State Fair this year in the Visual Arts project. Mackenzie Clydesdale, Norton, and Kaci Dirks, Decatur, received a purple ribbon, and Bailynn Moser, Sheridan, received a red ribbon in the Fine Arts category. Adleigh Ziegler, Sheridan, took home a purple in clay and ceramics. Ryllie Lippelmann, Decatur, also took home a purple in the leather and jewelry category. Gage Breiner, Norton, and KeLynn Jacobs, Decatur, received a blue in the Three-Dimensional category. Grady Breiner, Norton, received a purple, and Jalynn Flax, Graham, and Julie Wilson, Decatur, received reds in the General Crafts category.

Grady Breiner from Norton received a red ribbon on his woodworking entry. Mitchell Wasson from Decatur received a white.

KeLynn Jacobs, Decatur, received a blue ribbon for her fiber arts crochet project.

KeLynn Jacobs from Decatur County also brought home two purple ribbons for her horticulture vegetable specimens.

Declan Miller, Norton, received a red ribbon on his STEM Ag Mechanics welding entry.
