CASA of the High Plains Revives Annual Winter Fundraiser with “Neon Moon” Sweetheart Country Prom

HAYS, Kan. — CASA of the High Plains is bringing back its annual winter fundraiser after a pause following COVID, reintroducing the beloved event in a fresh new way as Neon Moon: Sweetheart Country Prom.
The event, produced by Jill Carlson of Happyroom Productions will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Hays, Kansas, beginning at 6:00 p.m. This 21-and-up evening will include drinks, dancing, and a live auction, all to benefit CASA of the High Plains and the children it serves throughout Ellis County and the surrounding region.
Neon Moon is designed as a fun, nostalgic country-themed prom for adults while supporting a serious mission. CASA of the High Plains recruits, trains, and supports community volunteers who serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. These volunteers provide consistent, one-on-one advocacy, ensuring children’s voices are heard and their best interests are represented in court during child welfare proceedings.
“We’re excited to bring this fundraiser back to the community in a way that feels celebratory and meaningful,” said Jan Johnson, Executive Director. “Neon Moon is not only a fun night out, but a way for our community to come together and directly support children who need strong, stable advocates.”
Tickets are on sale now through the CASA website at www.casaofthehighplains.org. CASA of the High Plains is currently seeking event sponsors and donors. Sponsorship opportunities range up to $5,000, making participation accessible for individuals, small businesses, and larger organizations alike. Proceeds from the event directly support CASA’s advocacy work and volunteer programs.
